Mortal

The realisation that

Your love too has an expiration,

The time it takes to

Decompose and

Rot to the core,

The contents thrown deep in a pit

So it ceases to exist.

And the packaging,

Recycled, reused,

Often abused.

Withering.

Its shelf life decreasing by the day,

Going out of fashion and style

To end up on the last season aisle,

Discounted, up for grabs in less than half-price,

It will hit you like his last goodbye.
